Stok Kangri Expedition (6153 M)
Flying into the capital of Ladakh, Himalayan Loop ensures that you get the mandatory rest which helps you in acclimatising to the low oxygen levels of the area, followed by simple treks. However, even while flying in the state, it is hard to miss the shapely peak of Stok Kangri (20075 ft.), which is extremely prominent on the southern skyline.
Trek to Stok Kangri is most challenging. Though termed as very safe and technically simple and straightforward climb involving low-angles and easy to tread snow, the climb overall is both challenging and interesting. Kipling India recommends this trek to tourists yearning to seek their first Himalayan summit experience even without any previous experience of high altitude or mountaineering.
